Welcoming the new Country Manager in Uganda of our member, DHL Express

We are proud to announce that DHL Express has appointed Joseph Odole as the Country Manager of DHL Express Uganda, effective from March 2021. Odole is responsible for driving business growth for the company in Uganda, with a strong focus on enhancing customer experience, employee engagement and service quality. 

Odole who is excited to join the DHL Express Uganda family said, “It is a great honor to continue my journey in the world’s most international company and I am looking forward to add to the organization’s impressive legacy.”

Hennie Heymans, CEO of DHL Express Sub Saharan Africa says the logistics sector is facing rapid changes, driven by globalization, regulation and innovation, which are creating opportunities for those able to adapt. “Strong leadership is imperative in order to develop and implement plans to effectively leverage these trends in order to drive growth in all regions.”

Odole joins DHL Express Uganda from DHL Express Gambia the where he held the position of Country Manager for three years. During his time in this role, he gained invaluable experience in strategy and business development, financial management and human resources.

Prior to his role in Gambia, Odole spent 25 years at DHL Express Nigeria, where he held a number of positions – most notably Sales Manager from 2012 to 2018. He believes that this role greatly contributed to his ability to provide strategic leadership and oversight, whilst directing large teams to achieve excellent results.

Odole is passionate about strategy, customer focus and business development, which he believes to be the cornerstone of business. “I believe sound business objectives are not negotiable in business. This, combined with a strong focus on motivated people and customer centricity, will provide the foundation for taking our business in Uganda to new heights,” he concludes.
